One of those fire-breathing Finn 606s would be a nice addition.

why do people get so worked up over what some redneck in BFE does to a car? i think its cool to see unusual ideas make it to reality....whether i would drive it, or enjoy owning it doesnt matter...i respect the time and energy it took to make something like that happen...i bet that guy gets mad props from the guys in the jeeps....all they did was slap on a few shocks and stabilizers and big ass wheels....i can only imagine the pain in the ass it was to convert those Mercs into what they are now...

It's an embarrassment to the Mercedes name. Disgusting. There is no need for that sort of foolishness.

Broken spring perches on 210 cars, the 350 diesels and the the M class are embarassments to the Mercedes name. Those monster-mercedes are great. I would drive one in a heartbeat.

The country club set can put a set of Turf Tamers on in place of the swampers- for the golf course.

Actually, the best would be an MB with tank treads.

I'm not kidding.........I'm seriously considering it for my parts car........as long as I don't find rust any more extensive than I know it has already.

I saw one at the local 4x4 shop a few months ago. I didn't have my camera to take a picture. By the time I went back it was gone.

Its at least a conversation piece.

I am assuming they had to put a truck chassis under it? What about a Dodge Ram 2500 chassis with an I6 Cummins? Bump to power up to the 800hp range torque would be off the charts! That would be so cool with a set of 44in super swamper mud tires and straight pipes spewing black smoke.

That would be on cool MB truck.

I am reading a book about a guy who drove around the world in a yellow SLK on a diesel G class chassis.

Puting it on a truck chassis is one way, I was thinking a subframe that attached to the stock subframe mounts........

using coil over suspension with trailing arm mounts under the center of the car. sort of like the better Jeep Wrangler Rubicon lift kits....

I'm willing to bet that all these conversions were done that way. Just "slap" the body on a truck chasis.

For the record, I'd drive it. But I think I would limit it to 35's. 44's are just to big.

Cool

Hatterasguy, I've seen a TV show that featured that yellow SLK/G class. That guy did an amazing job on it. IIRC, it has a tow-behind trailer that looks like the back of an SLK.

I am reading his book now, he said the car performed very well nothing MB broke. But the trailer was made by a company in CA I think and it kept breaking rear springs. The car was made for him by MB I think. If you are interested about how people are around the world and economic oppertunities around the glode I recomend his book. Also MB excellent global support for their products, best car to take around the world!
