Somebody hit my door handle last night...any thoughts?

Just gotta rant here...
Some idiot hit my car last night; no note....
Came out this morning to find the door handle, drivers side, bashed in and broken; damage to the sheet metal...
Looks like they rolled into it while turning around, must be a truck for that height.
Great. I suppose to have the insurance cover it would make my rates go up, as I will never figure out who did this.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
Anyone know if those coupe handles are the same as sedans?
Anyone got a spare?
What a crummy day this turned out to be...

Jerks, they were probably drunk. How bad is the damage can you post pics?

I have paint cracking on my rear bumper from people parking by feel.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I had something similar happen to me about a year ago. I was parked at my friend's apartment complex. Someone hit the passenger side rear and tore off part of the rubber on the bumper and put a small dent in the corner.

Unfortunately there's nothing much you can do except try to fix it as best you can and just try to forget about it.

Yeah, I need to just fix it.
I guess I will find out how easy it is to push that metal back out, and swap locks once I find a handle...
Anyone got one for sale?

Jimmy, send me your address in a PM. I have one from a 300D that should work. I don't think there's any difference in outer door handles between the coupes and sedans.

Sorry about that, hadn't noticed it.

BTW, the part number on the handles I have is "123 760 01 59". I do not have a key for the lock cyl. so you will have to replace it with yours. I don't see any difference on the exterior between them and the ones on my 85 300CD and believe they are the same.

Anyway, cleaned out my PM Box, so you can either PM me or E-mail me.

-James
