Check out this MB Convertable Crash-Fl. Judge Killed

Happened in Ft. Lauderdale on I-595 due to Road Debris the Judge swerved and ran his Black MB Covert. into a concrete Divider. They didn't list a Speed but hard to see how anyone could have survived that crash judging from the Photo of the Car. Go to local and state news on this link and open"Florida first black judge dies in crash...Http://http://www.local10.com/news/4126558/detail.html :(

According to the article...

Nance, who radioed fire dispatchers for help, fought back the flames from the crumpled, burning engine of the Mercedes while Rennert used a pocket tool to cut Latimer's seat belt and pull him out of the car, Reyes and Sheriff's Office Battalion Chief Peter DeJesse said.

The Mercedes bounced off the piling and burst into flames, Reyes said.

This is the part that worries me. Why did it happen?

Concrete bridge abutments will do that to you at 60 mph. :(

Not to be mean but.. did you read the article?

One of the witnesses.. who pulled him out of the burning car said this....

Quote:

"We were doing 55, maybe 60 max," said the witness, Bruce Rennert, 46, of Davie.

That poor soul...
At least he didn't have too much time to think about it.
Y'all, please drive carefully.

That is a gas car, right? (hence the bursting into flames)

Could have been that he had a medical problem (heart attack, etc.), fell asleep or something else. Hopefully nothing like drunk driving.

This stretch of I-595 is a Highspeed Nightmare during the Peak Rush Hours. Road debris in this area is a Bigtime Hazard. All these unlincensed contractors running around here with their old trucks , Overloaded and Unsecured is a daily disaster on our interstates. A year back or so-on I95 a few miles south of this accident,a young girl(a passenger) was impailed by a Piece of 3 foot long Construction Rebar that flew off on of these old trucks--it penetrated the windshield-flew into her chest-missing her Heart by a scant Inch or so-she survived luckily-the truck driver was never caught. WHat goes on down here on our roads defies belief.

koop 01-26-2005 09:13 PM

that happend to a guy I know out here. Piece of rebar about a foot long came through his windshield and hit him in the face. Nasty scar but he figures he's about as lucky as you can get.
