83 300D Trim Repair Question

Hi All,
Small accident the other morning, little off-road excursion during a snow storm. I knocked off the front fender trim piece. This is held on via some kind of red cap on the fender holes. On the back of the trim are some black plastic things that clip into the red things on the fender. Are these parts obtainable and if so, what is their real names so I can see if Phil carries them? Thanks Much

123 Trim

I tried to buy those pieces at a MB dealer and they were going to order them,,I wanted 20 of each(total 40) and they wanted 100 dollars. I went to a pull a part and poped off 10 pieces of trim(put the trim in the car) and I got about 40 pieces of each type(male and female). What is funny they did not charge for the pieces....send me 5 dollars for shipping and I will send you 5 of each...send a email and I will send you my address...Jim

This is what I think you are talking about. Some of the board here have things to say about the seller. Hit search for discussion. I don't know him one way or another, but you get an idea of the part at least.

I just bought some of them a year ago from George Murphy, George_Murphy@compuserve.com - twenty five cents each.

40¢ each at PP (http://www.************************/ProductPage.aspx?ProductName=Red+Button+Clip&productid=105348&producttype=40). Couldn't find them listed here on Fastlane, but I'm sure if you call Phil he can get them for you.

Call Fastlane

The new trim piece is inexpensive and comes with the black plastic daggers. New red plastic inserts are cheap too. Replace every one.
