Electrical Gremlin needs advice

I want to get my ignition buzzer working again. Where is it located? I have checked my fuses and all are ok. I wonder if my wiring problem with buzzer is connected to my recent alternator upgrade? I replaced with a Bosch factory rebuild.

My rear dome light is also intermittantly not working by use of the dash switch. It used to work fine. And is not coming on when door is opened. Is this problem connected to the buzzer not working or alternator install too?

Not sure about the buzzer. The light issue could just be a bad contact with the bulb or even a burned out bulb. I would pull out the rear light and check for corrosion. This worked on my wagon just moving things about a little inside the light got it functioning again.

The buzzer is not likely to be related to the alternator function. There is a small switch inside the ignition switch that sets it off when you put the keys in there. Your rear dome light is most likely to be a problem at the light fixture itself, they get flakey with age. The light may not be connecting, or the wires to it may be corroded at the fixture. The wiring in the dash to the swtich, or the switch itself could be bad. Usually it is just the plug in connection that is loose there and may need to be pushed in tighter. You will need to pry that panel off to get to it.

You might try some lock liquid graphite to clean that switch and see if that buzzard will start working. Cheap , worth a try.

Does anyone know where is this "buzzer" physically?

Mine works, it just sounds a little pathetic and am interested in finding out what it would take to change/repair it.

The buzzer is probably under the panel just above the driver's feet. In my 1977 115 300d it is under that panel just to the left of the steering column.
