I give up. Why did he build the manifold with two ports just to cap off one?

Its gonna be tough to steer.

Or, ... are they using the surplus boost from that supercharger for power assist.

Did they ever say what kind of HP that 617 is doing?

The racing season here in Finland is just beginning and the car will be seen in the track. In the meantime the figures remain property of the constructor/builder. This is the first street legal SuperTurbo intended only for racing, all others are daily drivers.

OMG!

I just peeked at this thread and I can't believe how awesome this car is. I love the fact that they chose a wagon for the project. As a w123 wagon owner, I've always known these things have great hot-rodding potential, but this is so over the top!

Does anyone know what the goal is with this car? Is it just a technical exercise or will they be racing it somewhere?

If you are talking the black manifold one of those is for an external wastegate.

If you are talking the aluminum one...then one is fed by the turbo and one is fed by the Supercharger...

Now that sounds like it. The first time I saw it I thought "Twin Turbo's."

I think the goal is to beat rehtijii's W123 300 Turbodiesel with app. 400hp. Quarter mile in less than 14 seconds.
