Used Parts Around Port Charlotte FL?
I will be vacationing in :sun_smile Florida next week (driving the SDL down) and was wondering if anybody knows of some good Auto Recyclers in the Port Charlotte area where I might be able to get some trim bits for my W126?
|
Not sure about PC, but there is one about 20-25 miles north of there. They have an older 126 380SE (or SEL) sitting there, as well as an older 126 300SD.
What kind of trim parts are you looking for? Depending on what it is, it may or may not be worth it. (wish I would have seen this post earlier.. I just came from there) PS: I think there used to be a salvage yard east of Punta Gorda (just across the bridge from PC) either just past, or just before Cleveland. Might wanna check the phone book and see if they are still there. Also, I am not sure what they have there. There is another U-pull it in Bradenton, but thats more like an hour from PC, and their selection is usually slim. If you can't find what you need while you're down here, maybe we can have a beer instead. -Larry |
Hi Larry,
Thanks for the leads. I have a number of small trim items I need for the SDL like the catches for the bins on the rear window shelf, some switches and if I can find one, a decent leather front seat in palomino. There are also some mechanical/electrical bits I would get if the price is right. Intake manifold, Aux. water Pump. |
I have been here; pretty good stuff.
It's 85 miles North of Port Charlotte though. RICKS EUROPEAN CONNECTION Largo, FL 33773 727-546-5347 FAX: 727-546-6283 rickeuro@gte.net Specializing in used and new parts for Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen. |
The older SD has a blue interior. Not sure about the red 380...I think its some shade of brown, but don't rightly recall. Switches? If you mean window switches - they go fassst. Other switches are hit-or-miss.
The top of the 617 in the SD is gone...the aux. water pump may still be there...if not, maybe its in the 380 still...there is also a 123 there (it may have one too, not sure). There is also a 115 300D there....motor still intact. Oh...it costs a buck to get in...so bring an extra dollar. :D |
Any Chance you are coming to Miami ??
I can recommend a yard in Miami--they have good parts-everything but not the cheapest. The name is Sharon at Martinito Motors. Her no.(business) 305-751-4741 and 305-633-9850. Email is: MartinitoM@bellsouth.net--- :sun_smile

Did the local auto junk yards get inundated with cars from the hurricane? You would think there would be parts galore.

Thanks for all the leads.
I doubt I'll make it across to Miami, but Ricks in Largo may be do-able. Looking forward to some sunshine and I'm sure my Texas SDL will appreciate the warmer weather :D |
