How many out there use the Lucas products?

I have used the lucas products for years in many of my older cars. I love the oil stabalizer. Makes the engine very quiet.

What about the rest of ya'?

Lucas oil stabilizer has a very high viscosity, so it's no surprise that it makes your engine quiet.

However, I think it's not good to use it in winter.

I have never used Lucas products in my automobiles before, but I have heard that they make rather good products.

I really can't judge the Lucas products as I've never tried them. Lucas wiring comes to mind. I worked on my dad's MG as a teenager, so i may be hopelessly prejudiced. Who here has seen the some of the great posters making fun of Lucas? My favorite is a Doctor and nurse standing on either side of a gurney bound patient, who suddenly sits up in spluttering disbelief and shouts "you installed a LUCAS pacemaker!!?"

I used the transmission fix in my old 300E which didn't really seem to do owt to the shift quality but *may* have cured a leak into the cooling system. I also used the oil stabilizer which seemed to quiet the engine a bit and slow down oil use.
I'd def. use them again if I had similar problems with a car.

Big difference between TR-6 and MGB. The only electrical problems I ever had with any of my 3 MGs were dead batteries from dirty terminals and dirty casings. MGs have two 6-volt batteries hooked in series, mounted on either side of the differential. They are constantly covered in crud. When the dirt on the casings gets thick enough it actually drains current from the positive to the negative terminal. The OEM battery cable terminals were also a ridiculous design, but once you replaced those and cleaned the batteries now and then, there were no problems.

Triumph, unfortunately, helped give MG a bad name for reliability.

I've tried the Lucas stuff. I can't say I notice any difference.

Without a controlled test you can't really say anything. Pull the injectors before using and photo and document them well. Put them back in and run the lucas stuff for a couple weeks.

Pull the injectors again and see if anything changed.

Remember, you can't use any other products or change any engine settings else during the trial.

And you can only use diesel, not any WVO, to ensure a consistent fuel quality.

I have never felt any night/day improvement. Hard to prove claims on the bottle. Most products say "helps to improve or clean". Thats not very quantifyable.

I think most stuff is suspect marketing. Most fuels have cleaners already blended in at the pump.

Lucas Oil Products, Inc., maker of engine and transmission additives, is not the same company that produces auto and electrical components.

I was going to try a quart of Lucas's oil stabilizer. Then I discovered it was as thick if not thicker than old STP's formula. Changed my mind about using it for my engines.

i have used their products for a few years now in several different cars with satisfactory results. as far as the viscosity comparison with stp (oil treatment)- it is thicker but acts differently than stp, when it mixes with the oil it doesn't just create thicker oil, it helps to keep the oil in bearings etc. preventing dry starts. their fuel system treatment has helped me from ever replacing injectors and/or seals in any of my vehicles including a motorhome that would sit for months at a time. maybe i'm just putting my faith in their propaganda, however having no problems speaks to me if you know what i mean.
