I am going to be working in the Phoenix area for the next couple of months and I was thinking of buying a used 300D (or similiar 300SDL, 300SD maybe a 240D but preferably something with a turbo) instead of renting a car.

I saw a 300D in the Autotrader at a reasonable price but it was listed as having a salvage title. Since you guys are easier to get an answer from then the DMV I thought I would throw the question in your direction first. How much of a hassale am I going to have trying to retitle this car in Washington State? Has anyone had problems getting insurance on a car with a salvage title? I realize the salvage title is probably due to some form of collision and/or insurance right off. It may even be from two car halves being welded together to make one car. I am not too worried about that. The long term goal for this car will be as a back up to my 300D daily driver. I would be interested in getting title transfer advise from the folks here. Of course if anyone recognizes this car I am refering to, speak up.

So what do you do when it's so cold out your fuel gels? Smear some on toast and have another cup of coffee until it warms up outside.

I do not have an answer to your title question, but my salvage title Nissan pickup that I use as my trash hauler / household mule costs a bit more to insure than if it had a clear title. As I recall it runs about $60 a year more. I do not carry collision on it.
