A funny thing happened at the BBQ restaurant today...

I went to the Pappa's Barbeque restaurant earlier tonight to get some food, and I parked next to a CLEAN, good looking dark blue 83-85 (clearly not an 82 because of the black vents near the windshield instead of the chrome ones) 300D TurboDiesel. It was a beautiful looking car. I got my food, and took it to my car to take home. I started the car up and I was adjusting my seat belt, turning on the radio, A/C, etc..., when the owner of the dark blue 300D came out, and she started looking puzzled at her car. She looked confused, she then realized it was my car making the noise. I guess she thought her car had turned on while she was inside.
Just a funny little story I thought you'd enjoy.
-Joe

Ok, since you asked. I ate a BBQ beef sandwich and a baked potato with chopped beef in it with a Big Peach soda when I got home. There, happy?

Oh no. The lady looked old enough to be my mother, or even grandmother in some cases. You guys and your thinking, I saw that "lubes-n-greases" thread.

Yes, those stuffed baked potatoes are quite nice. I'd be 300lbs if I went there as often as possible.

I love Texas BBQ.(I prefer beef over pork, like the Texans)
I am coming to Houston next month on a business trip.
Can anyone recommend a good Texas BBQ place in Houston?

Thank you

Sure, drive west out of Houston in IH10 until you get to SH71... continue on SH71 west to Austin to the intersection of SH71/US290 and Montopolis Dr. Turn north on Montopolis and continue to about the 1000 block of Montopolis.

On the east side of the street is a funky red shack with absolutely the best brisket you will EVER eat. Ray's isn't open very late or on Sunday or Monday and only takes cash.

GO there anyway, you won't regret it.

I can totally endorse Rays. No doubt the best brisket I've ever had. Worth a trip to Texas for a sample.
