Axle compensation washers
Are the axle compensation washers associated with the differential or the axles. If I change the differential, do I use the washers on my axles or use the washers left behind in the new differential. If I install a new (used) axle do I use the washer on the new axle.
Doing a 3.07/2.80 swap this week end. John PS I have a second 2.80 differential in good shape. Very tight, no feelable slack in the crown and pinion. In Vanvouver B.C. $400.00 Can. (what I paid) |

Theoretically, the washers stay with the differential. Move them from the old axles you remove to the new ones you install. The snap rings should be a tight fit when reinstalled.
