Interested in a 300D "Manual"

I amlooking for a 300D manual transmission.

If anyone has any information if someone is selling.

I am located in Chicago, I am willing to drive over 250 miles....

My price range is $2000. If in excelent shape can go higher.

I am curently looking in ebay but no luck for a manual.

Thanks ...

I am assuming that you are aware that the only 300D manuals in the US are either grey marketed Euro models or a conversion. Either way, they are quite rare and quite sought after.

Have you ever driven a manual transmission 240D? A good running manual 240D is fun to drive and MUCH easier to maintain and repair. They are relatively plentiful and inexpensive.

Just wanted to make sure you are aware of all this.

Good luck,

Oh wow, I really did not know this. Thank you for the information that helps understand the hard finding.

Yeah 240D will do just fine, I need a manual trans. I will check on the 240's at ebay.

-Thanks once again for the info.

About the only thing that I would like to do with that vehicle is to bring it in to the M/B dealer for service to the engine.

Have camera ready.

check out the fs section on the front page. there is a stick 190 available in arkansas. better mileage than a 240 or 300.

If nothing else it should go up hills better. Also drive it long enough and it will eventually start to burn oil. Then you will feel right at home.
