I saw a thread a while back that was related to the cost of the manuals. I would much rather spend a little or a lot more and get the real thing. No substitute for the original.

Books4cars.com has what you are looking for. Be ready to drop about at least $500, because their just isn't one for any car their is probably about 6.

The engine manual for a 3L 603 was $300 last I checked. Then you will need, electrical, AC, chassis and body, and a few others I don't remember off the top of my head.

I think the ratios might be in the Technical Data Manual. I will see if I can dig up that info in the next few days.

The TDM is another hard to find manual. I've found them a few times for my car and of course I've blown it by forgetting to bid on them.
I used the link to the tranny manual some time back.
I wish there was one for the automatic.

I used to have CDs that covered a few models. I just got myself a cop of WIS that does have quite a few models on it.

Same thing happened to me. I won an "Engine Manual" on Ebay a while back.

Turned out it was actually "Suppliment #2" to the "real" manual. There's no way to tell from just looking at it. The cover looks exactly the same as the "full" manual. I even emailed the seller and asked ahead of time if it covered my engine. It was only after I received it and dug into it and read the fine print did I realize what it was.

Still a lot of detailed info, and it's very possible that the original seller didn't know it wasn't the full engine manual, so I can't fault him.

Also, there is indeed a Transmission Manual in the service set, according to one of my other MB manuals. I don't recall ever seeing that one, though.

Mister Byrnzoil, I saved it to my hard drive in my computer after downloading it to a memory stick at work. I can't post it on a website or email it to anyone since I only have a dial-up connection at home (26.4 kbps max. ). It would take days to upload if it didn't hiccup in the process. I also can't email anything that big from work since my email account restricts attachment uploads of 5 Mb max.
I also don't have a CD burner to make copies.
Sorry.

Not to be negative but...

...these cars are not the most difficult things to work on and you don't often need the manuals (Other than for perhaps nostaligia)

You can browse the threads and see all the things I have done to my car (and others!) and I don't even own a mercedes manual. I believe I looked at the online manual one time to verify the degrees for the drip meathod timing adjustment however other than that, I just go at the job and figure it out.

Sure I would LOVE to have the books but I find it way more fun to be out working on the car...after all its pretty straightforward, save the CCU and anything newer/computerized

I prefer having the FSM, their are a lot of little things that are in the manuals that are not on this site.

Considering a CD that contains everything is only like $30 for my car, why not have one?
