tranny problem

i just got a 82 300d turbo, my tranny slips from 2nd to 3rd only when it's cold. after driving around for about 10 mins it shifts fine. any ideas guys?
i already changed the oil and filter, i even put a bottle of lucas tranny treatment. also checked all vacuum line connections. another thing, it downshifts very hard also when it's cold. warmed-up the car runs/rides like achamp!...thanx...john

Do a search on "Trans-X" and maybe try adding some of that. Sounds like maybe something is partially clogged and as the ATF warms and becomes thinner it flows through ok.
