Do we have any members in Hawaii, if so what are you guys paying for diesel?

Just wondering if we have any members in Hawaii and if they're feeling any diesel pricing pains like we are in the state of Washington. I would imagine diesel fuel is more expensive there just like everything else is over there.
For any of you Hawaiian members follow the link to my other thread and post your prices.

AAA has state by state fuel price averages, updated daily:

http://198.6.95.31/sbsavg.asp

Looks like Hawaii is the highest at $2.639 for diesel, and Washington a close second with $2.601.

You can all shake your fists at Oklahoma with $1.926 average. Of course, you've got to live in Oklahoma...

peace,
sam

Oh we've got Hawaii beat by quite a bit. See my thread.
I'd like to read first hand from someone over there rather than rely on a site that's outdated or uses averages for an entire state.

Don't worry, there aren't that many pumps in Hawaii.

And maybe you are just in the wrong part of washington!

The site is updated daily at least.

Ouch. Then again, it's Hawaii how can one complain?
I was reading NYT the other day while on a plane. It was a long flight, so I got into the sections I rarely ever see. There was an interesting article there about renting a VW Golf running on biodisel, on Maui of all places. The link is http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/25/automobiles/25green.html?, but you will probably need online registration to read it. Here's the interesting quote:

Fueling the car, Ms. Smith found, proved to be fairly easy, with a Pacific Biodiesel station in a convenient location near Kahului Airport in Maui. And it was cheaper, too. "When we refueled to go back to the airport, the price of biodiesel was quite a bit less," Ms. Smith said, about $2.30 a gallon versus $2.69 on average for regular unleaded.

Yup, thats BioBeetle, a part of Pacific Biodiesel. http://www.bio-beetle.com/

They are good people, and are doing very well with their WVO-sourced biodiesel business. Their success is a good example of what is going to happen everywhere in the country, rising petroleum costs will cross declining biodiesel costs, and bam, biofuel.

peace,
sam

Hi everyone. I live in Hawaii. If I am not mistaken that $2.63 a gallon is the price at the Honolulu Chevron or at most of the pumps on the outer islands. I never patronise Chevron, so I pay about $2.49 a gallon. Which is about what 92 octane gas costs. I am so glad I have a 300D instead of a 560SEL.

Come to Hawaii and get lei'd

Or you can come and get screwed on diesel prices. $2.69 on the East side of Maui and $2.49 on the West side. Bio-diesel is $2.35. #2 diesel with Biobor treatment added is $1.19 at the Lahaina Yacht Club fuel dock but you have to bring a boat. If you buy 4,000 gallons or more they cut the price to .99 a gallon.

A fresh ripe pineapple here is twenty five cents all year around. A can of pineapple is $3

They send the pineapples to California for canning since the Islands no longer have a cannery. Go figure.

Thanks for the updates from Hawaii. I feel I can officially say that WA has the highest diesel prices in the nation and that my bellyaching is truly valid.
WA really sucks for owning diesels now. They even make us smog them like gassers which even CA doesn't require.
