Optimum temperature for a Diesel MB
My temp gauge runs at just above 65* Centigrade and I hit the motor with my thermo heat gun.....
temps ran 150* f on the head and 145*f on the water pump... where is teh best temp for optimum operation on a 240D ? Seems kind of cold to me! btw.. those throttle linkage 1.50$ grommets gave me my power back.. I put them in today and she is a rocket ship now.......well not a rocket ship but it made 50% more power because I was not getting the rpms before I put them in. Just plain old too much slack in the linkage. I was not getting full turn on the IP. This was a vegas car and I brought it to SLC, Utah.. it's about 50*F out today. I can hardly get heat coming out as well... the heat works, it's just not that warm. |

That engine should be at 80*-90*C on the gauge. Sounds like you need a thermostat. RT
