Famous ecology frendly wiring harness for 95 E300D

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine wiring harness in my 95 E300D because the insulation has degraded and only the bare wire is left. I have the CD service and repair manual but I cannot find the wiring diagram for the defective wire harness. Can someone please help me to locate the wiring diagram or diagram for the engine harness (The part number is 124 440 40 32) Thank you in advance for your help.

I thought that dealers were replacing those harnesses. Some will, some won't.

OMG! A car that new with a wiring harness deteriorating? I could understand that in a older car over 40 years old but not something so new. The wiring harnesses in my '51 Cadillac still look good after all these years and there are a few large ones running from the engine bay to the interior.
Is this something that's a problem in many of the new makes of cars these days or is it something that is limited to MB's?

Yes, this is a known problem with those wiring harnesses. Do a search on the forum and you should get some good info. I know some people were able to get the dealer to replace the harness at no cost. But not all dealers will do it.
