1984 300SD"transmission slipping?

i just recently purchased a 1984 300SD..has 200000 miles on it....but transmission was rebuilt at 130000 miles..when in high gear and you floor it ..engine reves up slightly....transmission seems like it is slipping....checked vaccume at transmission modulator and while in park it is registering 10 to 12 lbs of vaccume...any kind of adjustments i can make or is this sucker fixing to require a rebuild....thanks in advance

My dad's 83 did this exact same thing before its recent (month ago) tranny fluid and filter change. Afterwards the rev increase in 4th gear when hitting the throttle was eliminated. Prior to the service it would go up by about 200-300rpm and even whistle sometimes. Other times when slowing down to around 15mph then hitting the gas it would lose all grip and rev up/whistle real loud till you let off and let it slowly "grab" and then it would go fine again. This was also eliminated by the fluid/filter change, I bet the filter was just real clogged up, it can cause lots of problems/odd behavior. Perhaps try that first?

i had already changed the filter and fluid...filter and fluid looked good....no metal...when cold...it shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd....this has got me stumped...unless the transmission is about gone...but it had a 1900$ transmission rebuild in 1999....plus torque converter....only happens in 3rd to 4th gear ....when you get on it..like it;s nothing there.........i replaced all filters including the one in the tank...new hoses....cleaned out the banjo fitting behind turbo charger......i;m stumped.........

If this transmission has B2B that may be the problem. Sounds like mine just before that one blewup.
One thing ot look into before you go there would be the vacuum. The vacuum on this trans softens the shifts. Trace the vac line from the left side modulator and disconnect it, plug the engine side. Drive it, if the shifts firm up you may have a vacuum adjustment to do.

MB has a redesigned spring kit for the K1 accumulator. Go to the dealer and order a K1 spring kit. I just bought 2 spring kits from the dealer. I just gave them the part number: 126 270 44 77. They were $10.50 each. Have not installed them yet...

Go here for installation details.

Click on Articles, then Transmission, then K1.

Does this apply to the 1983 W123 too?

Great info.

This is a fix for transmission slip/flare on 2-3 upshift at partial load for 722.3,722.4 and 722.5 automatic transmission.

I'm not sure which one the w123 300D has. Someone else chime in...

Ah! Is this something they keep in stock or a special order item? Mine does that at low throttle but at WOT it's fine.
