two clunks followed by whining/scraping noise
so i jacked the car up, put it in drive, and gave it some "gas" (diesel doesn't sound right in that context ) and there was a slight whining/scraping noise (same one i posted about earlier). as i pressed the accelerator down further, there were two clunks/jolts and then the whining/scraping got really intense. also, when the car was in neutral and off, i spun the tires by hand, and the driver side wheel made a scraping noise at a certain point in its rotation (same point every rotation) the calipers were completely removed and hanging from the sway bar, so it definiely had nothing to do with brake pads. the passenger wheel did not make this noise. anyone know what the problem could be?

Could it be the parking brake shoes? Maybe a return spring came loose. Pull off the brake disc and check the condition of the shoes.
