similar forum for older porsches?

sorry for the non-MB disel question, but I figured one of you out there might know of a similar quality sight devoted to older porsches (911)...

I haven't had much luck with googling...

cheers!

"There is no substitute"

Don't expect to find a Porsche forum as complete as this MB forum. They don't compare.

PelicanParts is pretty good, though. I just sold an engine over there, they seem to have an extensive tech section and rebuilding section, both exclusively for 911s.

You might check out my local PCA Region website, it has a lot of general Porsche info. in the "forum" section, with a link to the PCA national site that has lots more, although you have to be a member to access some of it.

I know Porsche built a diesel tractor many years ago. Did they ever put a diesel engine in any of their cars...?

I third rennlist.com
It also helps me with my other turbo.

Pelican parts is good for buying parts from members and they have good support for 911's.

Not to my knowledge, but there is talk of offering a Diesel option for the Cayenne SUV (you know the one that looks like a 911 Turbo was rear-ended by a mazda MPV ). Not sure if that will be the VW Toureg V10 (the Cayenne is just a Toureg under the skin with a Porsche engine) or some other motor.

I fourth rennlist.com as the best Porsche forum. Still a member there even though my 951 is sold and I no longer visit there. Pelican was my second favorite

Alas, Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking claims: "I don't believe in diesels. It's the wrong way for the environment. I believe in gasoline engines."

There may be a hybrid Cayenne in a few years, though, probably with help from Toyota.

Thinking about how cool a 944 TDI would be...
