'86 190D 2.5 Sluggish Start
First start is sluggish for 10-15 Sec. The problem persist after replacing glow plugs, purging with 2 Moly diesel cans, and fuel filters; there is white smoke. I had this car for the last 6 years. I didn't primer it... how do you it?..

Have you checked the Glow-Plug Relay?
Maybe it is not timing properly or getting the 'juice' to the Glow-Plugs. Some white smoke at start-up is not unusual but if excessive may indicate ring or valve-guide wear.

Hi,
I haven't checked the relay. How do you do it ? It really doesn't smoke a whole lot, but it does for 10-15 seconds. Thanks |
