Right. That's what happens when you start at 1 cent.

Sold a Maverick like that years ago, 1 penny, no reserve. Sold for $1,500 or so with about 80 bids (that was before there were so many people on ebay.)

Seems like an honest seller for a change.

There isn't much hood pad left, he's better off just junking it, or giving it to me.

From the way the back of the car is sitting it might have some issues.

When I won Wilted Flower on eBay last Summer I was the only bidder at $850. The seller was pissed because he was thinking this 300TD would have gone for at least $1,500 or more...

Good deal on "Wilted Flower". What kind of shape was it in when you got it?
Since several of yall are using the plant/flower naming thing, I might have to change "The flash" to "Poison Ivy"...

I threw the bid in an a lark never thinking it would stand up! I had a lot of s'paining to do to the wife when I won....The car had 155,000 miles on it when I got it. The engine has been the strongest part. Good power no smoke. The body is only fair with some small rust spots that I am addressing. I went through the brakes, front suspension, accumulators and the ACC system. I have put 12,000 miles on it so far with no major issues. I probably have about $1,800 in it in total. So, so far so good!

Wow, we've certainly taken different routes with our '80 TD's! Glad to hear of your good luck. Nice... What color? What would you say your 0-60 time would be? I'm just curious what I should expect from mine.

**edit** 'Splaining would be an understatement at my house. I almost had to sleep in my parts car when I had that towed here.

And, that was your first mistake, taking it home. You need a storage site like I have.

looks like 2stew was,,,

bidding small incrememnts against a larger bid. i.e. he bid $1.00 someone bid $100. then 2stew would bid $3.00 then $4.00, then $5.00 etc he kept bidding because he wasn't winning the auction. till he stopped at $1900 or so.
