My first tank-full B-20........

Last week I learned that B-20 biodiesel is being sold near where I live. Today, I filled up. Already my engine is quieter, but I've only driven 8 miles, so I cant comment much on it yet.

How many others here have tried it, and what do you think?

Also, how much are you paying for it? I paid $2.35 a gallon. ....BB

Been running on B20 for a few months now.........didn't notice a difference...but then my fuel system might have been fairly clean to begin with....

$3.40 / gal for B100 here. I blend with dino or WVO to about B20 - B30. And yes, there's less diesel klatta with bio or WVO added to the fuel. Less smoke too.

Do you run Power Services, or Red Line? When I run either of those additives my engine runs very quiet and has a little more umph!

i like the b20 and it comes with a 45c d-2 premium mix. unfortunately its 65 miles away so we take 2 15 gal carboys along and 78 bucks later we have fuel for a month.

b100 is nice also but that is 80 miles away.

Not running anything else at all right now.....I do need to pick something up however...just B20 at the time being.....Just filled up my W116 tonight with B20 again.....dosed it good with Biobor before it was parked for the winter. Still need to do the IP timing on it....I figured out the power loss problem the night of the first snow....which is when it gets parked for winter. SOme of you guys are going to be foaming at the mouth when I tell you I paid $2.28 9/10 per gallon for B20 tonight.

I love BD, though it is $3.60 a gallon here
if the rain ever quits I am going to finish that conversion for veg...
One thing I noticed is my braided injector overflow fuel lines are weeping already from BD breakdown...keep an eye on 'em

Good to see the biodiesel subsidy at work. Should get bioD down to just above diesel prices. Now get on the horn and tell your federal legislators to extend it past 2006!!

You should elaborate more about a 2006 extension, because I for one am unaware of what you are talking about?

Right now, the B100 I buy is $2.25/gal, petro diesel is $2.29 gallon. Guess what I'm running!

If I had a place to make bio, it would be about $1/gal, then the only reason I'd buy D2 is for B100 winterizer.

We may have a plant here (RMBD), but their output is tied up with Agland. The BD I get is from one of the co-op members who makes a LOT of excellent fuel and trades me for mechanic work. Comes to $2.25/gallon when trade is done.

His fuel is on par with Blue Sun. That is from various tests I've done. It does have a slightly higher gel temp than BS since it's from WVO, but that's more than compensated for with D2 blending.
