what's this in trunk?

Just saw this 240d on EBAY. Never seen these almost factory looking things attached in trunk. What are they?

I'm sure those aren't factory. In fact, the owner has violated the gas tank panel by screwing into it. As far as the condition is concerned, it sure doesn't look "pampered" to me. It's probably that Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker that caused that back rubber to fall off. The car must be Republican.

Hmmm

Front seats broken down.
Grill broken, looks like impact damage.
Trunk deck lid dented in over star.
Dash cracked.
Stone chips front, rear and sides.
Front and rear bumper damage.
Glove box not closing correctly.
Seat cargo nets sagging.
After market floor mats hide OEM carpets???
Door panel covers delaminating = wrinkles.

The trunk cargo bags look after market.

Ah,so it's not factory. Still looks neat(besides the screwing into the fuel tank) wonder what those objects are? That you'd want to secure and cover like that?

I like the idea of having the totes in the trunk too, it's just that I hate screwing drilling and screwing into things. I'd rather put stuff in the side wells.... neatly, that is.

The crappy stuff on top of that.

I wonder if the upper radiator neck will snap off
the first time you touch it.

Louis.

Those look like stowage bags to me. Probably OK if the fasteners aren't 2 - 3 inches long. It also has the good factory trunk carpet. (Wonder why MB quit furnishing that item. I'm using the one in my 300D that originally came in my first 240D.) Definitely not a "pampered" car, but if the running gear is OK, it has possibilities. I didn't see too much that couldn't be fixed DIY.

Wes
