Yep, I have used it twice. Once on my 92 500SEL to get a jump start when it was just a year old, and once on the 300SDL when it ran out of fuel. Worked without a problem, at least during regular business hours.

Works like a charm. I used it once when I ran out of fuel in the hills.

Not to be technical, but roadside assistance will not "fix a flat" as part of the free service. They will remove a flat tire and replace it with your spare. But they do not repair flat tires.

Me too...a few years ago the '82 240D I had needed a jump or a new battery. Just from curiousity, I called the 800 number and was shocked when the cheery fellow on the other end of the phone said,"No problem,we'll have someone out there ASAP".Amazing!

What about towing? I gotta get the 300SD to a mechanic cause I'm too busy (lazy) to fix the wiring.

I wish I'd known about this service when I ran out of fuel on my way back from PA when I got my car!! (thats when I found out my gauge didn't work) Or when our 83 got stranded when its alternator seized.....we just towed it home at night ourselves though, thankfully it happened within the city!

I know they will help you if your vehicle gets stuck (neighbor slid off the road to avoid an accident and got stuck in the median). If you vehicle has a mechanical issue I believe their policy is to tow to the closest "authorized" MB dealership or service center as opposed an independent competitor (not that you can blame them, since they DO offer the service for free).

They will fix it for time and a half if it is a simple issue. However, if you filled your gas tank with diesel or vice versa, you are screwed as they will not drain a tank on the roadside.]

I have used them a couple of times when they are not open for business, the shop, that is. Once was on a Sunday afternoon and the other was on a weekday night.
