Removing part of OM606 intake manifold

can anyone enlighten me on how to remove the part of the air intake that lays accross the top of the engine from the section the EGR connects to the intake manifold? I see 2 bolts on a support bracket at the 'left side' (next to the EGR section) and one bolt attaching it to the intake manifold on the 'right'.
I undid these and tried a bit of wiggling but didn't want to break anything...

You are doing it exactly right. You can use a flat haed screw driver to pry it loose under the area where there is the single bolt. It's on there tight as the rubber o-rings hcreate a good seal. When replacing them I smeared some grease on the o-rings so tha they slide on and off easily.

thanks. I did see that glow plug link but I think the later 606 engines have a different air intake? I may be wrong...

You asolutely correct. The 98 and 99 turbo models do not have the part of the manifold that crosses back over the engine to the air box. Instead it connects to the pipe coming from the intercooler which runs up from the driver side bumper.
