Rod Bender Question...........
Is the 1992 300SD powered with the infamous bored out 603 known as the "Rod Bender"???
If not, what diesel engine was used for power? ..............BB

the 350SD is the one with the rod bending engine, all the 300 engines are good as they are I think all the 92's are 350sd's, they did make a 1992 300D with the 2.5 turbo engine, which is also bulletproof and very economical.....

I'm no M-B historian, but wasn't the 1992 300SD equipped with the 3.5L engine?
The numbers in the model number don't always match the displacement. I think they changed the name to 350SD in 1994. Last edited by Eskimo; 03-29-2005 at 09:31 PM.
