Turn Signals

Hello, I am new to the mercedes world, so I will offer up this question. My turn signals quit working in the middle of a drive. I checked fuses ok, I checked bulbs and light test ok, one bulb burnt out front right, replaced it still no front parking light, turn signals or right side parking light. I was told that most of the electric stuff runs on a circuit so once one goes bad they are all soon too. Anyone that can point me in any direction would be great, otherwise I will tinker with it till I feel the hair on my head is worth more than what I will pay a mechanic. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

The fuses on these vehicles are tricky to diagnose. You may look at a fuse and not be able to see that it has fractured completely through.

If the fuses have been in the vehicle for more than five years (or you have no idea how old they are) change all the fuses. Obtain a set of brass or copper fuses rather than the aluminum ones that always strand you at the worst possible time.

I fought a problem of turn signals and gauges, intermittant, for months. Fuse "looked" good.

Bad fuse.

My turn signals were intermittent and all that I had to do was operate the emergency flasher switch numerous time and this appeared to clean of the contacts enough to allow the turn signals to operate. My lights would light but no flashing until I agitated the contacts. That was on a 1985 300TD.

Powdrluvr,
Both of the above suggestions are great, however I would like to suggest that when you ask a question that you let us know what car we are talking about. All MB's have a lot in common but there are also a lot of differences. Maybe you could add a 'Signature' to your post that will always give us the year and model so we will have just a little more information to go on.
Welcome to the world of MB's.

Silly Me

Silly me being new to a good forum I forgot to do a search first. After posting my post right above was the sticky telling me to a do a search. So after posting I searched. This morning I found the answer. Four ways stuck halfway on. Thanks for the quick replies. OH yeah my car is a 1983 240D. It has 192000 on it. Everyone says they are slow buy mine rips!!! I was doing over 90MPH out in the desert the other day! It slow off the line but so what it wouldn't be on the road if it was not safe, also they do make other cars with brakes so if they have a problem like me in front of them they will use them. The only thing is my right side parking lights and running lights are not working now. Blinkers blink though! I'll keep searching!
