Wastegate Adjustment Screw

I have a '82 300 SD I was wondering what the screw with the lock nut does on the top of the wastegate?? I'm pretty sure that's what that is, i don't know too much about diesels. Which way would you turn it for more boost or less boost? Any help would be great

It's not the alda, it's on the other side of the engine on the front, it's not the wastegate its something else but it has the same adjustment screw as the alda abd a vacuum line going to it?
