Euro trim overseas delivery '82 300TD turbo

I just bought ANOTHER '82 300TD. I've spent 5 mins. looking it over... My dad called me at the office, told me about it, I said "buy it" and he dropped it off at my house today....
Here is what I see, Euro delivery, first service in Germany, subsequent locally (SC) since new. US bumpers, US VIN #, power windows. EURO door panels (MB Tex/ ribbed cloth) Euro rear seat, Euro headlights, large clock instead of clock/tach. To top it off it has a trailer hitch
Where they available like this or did the PO convert it?

I have an 84 "Gray Market" car like this. Power windows weren't standard, at least in mine. Someone put aftermarket power windows in front but you can still feel the holes where the cranks were. From what I understand, my car came with all cloth (still has), no power windows, no AC, and a few other things which were added when the car came to the states. Also, and the best part, is it is a 4 speed manual. It's not turbo either, which hasn't been an issue thus far, and I seem to get better mileage than the turbo automatics I hear about. So far I'm happy with it, except for the damn alternator and I just found a hydraulic leak in the rear. Good news is I think it may be a bad connection or busted line, not a strut. I hope...

If it's a turbo, it's a US car someone tried to make look euro spec.

In Europe, the only passenger car that MB equipped from the factory with the turbo OM617 was the W123 300TD turbo.

By the way, what's a Euro rear seat?

The rear seats are upholstered in the ribbed euro fabric, one surviving rear head rest is fabric covered. The front seats are MB-Tex..

I only have the production card which is glued into the maintance book, I don't see the interior code, can that be found on the data plate on the car?
It does have option 820, US tourist delivery and code 451, tachometer so perhaps the gauges may have been switched...
