My dad's SD doesn't leak a drop, nothing, anywhere, I am serious. I need to take a picture of the engine/underside, its completely dry. Mine sweats however, so whenever I park in the driveway I am made to put a piece of cardboard under it.

Spray Carb Cleaner works wonders on small areas, dissolves the oil and washes it right out of the pours of the concrete. It will also remove graffiti from block walls (will not remove the newest latex spray paint).
For large areas I have used a steam cleaner (pressure washer with a heater) the heat really makes a difference.

Pool acid will not cut the oil. After the concrete has been degreased you can acid etch but this is dangerous and must be approached carefully (I have gotten chemical burns from the vapors coming up from the concrete, fortunately I was wearing a respirator).

GO to Home Depot or simular ..and buy any powdered garge floor degreaser, they are usually orange in color and pine fragranced...if stains are embedded in the concrete wet the concrete and sprinkle detergent over the stain liberally .....get some old terri cloth towels and place them over the treated area....now wet the towels....now place some weight over the towels so the towel is in even contact.....wait 24 hours....stain is absorbed in the toweling..PRESTO ....works every time..

Behr #990 Concrete Cleaner and Degreaser is the only product that has actually worked for me. I have my droppings from 36 years of diesel and gas cars + the previous owners droppings and the concrete was quite black. I used the Behr product concentrated and let it sit for a while then cleaned it off and the driveway now looks quite respectable. I was impressed! Hope it works as well for you.

Well, my brother's niece moved away a few months after I made my initial post back in April 05, and the car's long gone, but thanks for your answer Ron.

I assumed one of those hurricanes had cleaned all the Texas driveways by now.
I added my comment to the old thread to aid anyone doing a search so they wouldn't have to comb through multiple threads. I think it is easier to have everything in one place.

Using any of the suggestions above to remove as much of thes stain as possible - buy a bag of concrete mix, wet the area (think slab not just stain) and sprinkle the concrete mix over the area. Using a shop broom, go with the grain of the slab sweeping excess mix off of driveway. Allow to dry and it will look like new. Don't buy the redi-mix with sand and stones.

Nah, Dont waste good fuel....

Use the 'Glycerol'/by-product from the Biodiesel process......

Spread a good glop of the stuff on the stains, work it in with hard brush and leave for an hour or so. Pressure-wash off, and you'll think you dreamed the oil stain!

At the old place this was a HUGE problem. the landlord wanted to kill us over the oil spots in the driveway. well I spend an entire weekend working on the driveway. I poured mercuric acid on the driveway, let that fume for a while then rinsed it off with the hose. i did this to the whole driveway because its an etcher, so i etched the whole thing. then i busted out the pressure washer. my dad has one he uses to strip pain off houses. so yeah... that thing did the rest. i did all the concrete so it all looked clean. I was very proud of my work. the house looked so nice!

Then the land lord still *****ed about my cars and the condition of the driveway. (which was now WAY cleaner then when I moved in.) so i bought my own house!

the driveway there is getting some spots on it. but i plan on etching it with the acid, pressure washing it, and then painting it with concrete sealer. I'm hoping that with the sealer on there I'll be able to clean up the spots with simple green and a garden hose.
