Planning manual tranny swap? Read on...
I'm posting this in hopes it will help somebody out. I found a 280TE wagon (w123) with 4-speed manual tranny for sale in my area. The car is a complete dog, with many broken windows, totally trashed interior, and most trim missing. But it IS a manual tranny and would be a perfect parts source for someone about to undertake a manual tranny swap. Or if you were really gutsy, it could make an interesting restoration project.
The car is in Sacramento, Calif., in the hands of a questionable dealer/repair shop. Even so, they told me they only want $300 for the car. I doubt it runs. If anyone's interested, let me know and I can get more info, including pix. |

That would be on the wrong side of the country.................... |
I'm interested in this but am unsure if the gas engines use the same transmissions. Does anyone know about the cross compatibility of gas and diesel transmissions for 123?

Just kidding, I would only want the tranny related stuff, nothing else... Get a price on that if you can |
