need tips, disassembling injector

i'm gonna have a look at my injectors coz i have bad fuel consumption,
i have a 603, i've never tried removing let alone disassemble an injector, any tips? or is it pretty straightforward? thanks

Hey,
Good question.
As far as I know you need a 27mm long socket to remove the injector.
Carburator cleaner to soak it in (not the spray kind).
And when installing the heat shield/washer needs to be replaced.

I'm sure other people will post with more tips.

only do one injector at a time so parts don't get mixed up.....the 1 gallon Gunk carborator cleaners with the soaking tray is perfect....looks like a paint can.

I only soak the nozzles, I do them all at once but you cannot mix the needles and seats.

I have never done a 603 but I think they are almost the same.

Get powerful magnification so that you can see what you are really doing. Search for pintles, holes, India.

Search for threads by TomJ. He is one of the resident experts on this topic. If he will clean them and balance them for you, it may be a more attractive option.

You may be able to access the factory shop manual at skinnerbox.com. There is a link in the FAQs. The manual has an extensive write-up on injector cleaning. Good luck.
