With blown intake turbo seals you can get 500 or higher = bad news.

410 psi= 28.2:1 compression.

How does a turbo seal get you higher compression??

Simple.

Excess oil taking up cylinder space + giving piston rings better seal.
Been there, done that, blew my mind and my gauge.
When I refused to go further, the boss took over (calling me a lier) and confirmed my diagnosis, owner failed to tell us she was adding eight quarts of oil each day.

Will that gauge even fit down next to the IP and into the holes?

I just did a compression test and used the real deal for it. Very easy and straightforward. Oil makes a BIG DIFFERENCE :)

If the owner is adding eight quarts of oil per day she definitely has some engine problems. Yes, I can see how this much oil could find its way into the engine, even at cranking speed.

However, if the engine were to use a typical high rate of consumption...........say 1 quart every 500 miles...........would you agree that this oil consumption level can have no effect on the compression test?

Agree:

No argument.
Just raising the point = warning others.
