Banjo torque
Quick Question
Is there a torque value for the banjo fitting bolt on the back of the intake manafold and if so what is it? Just want to get it right. Thanks for any info. |
did it today...
just snug is right; don't want to overtorque. talked about in this article: http://business.baylor.edu/Richard_Easley//autofaqs/boostchk.htm |
Answer:
Do not recall.
It is very easy to strip out the threads. Caution and just enough tension to hold the fitting snug. I do them by feel, best guess = low inch pound range. |
Use a regular combination wrench to tighten the bolt not a socket wrench. These combo wrenchs vary in length according to bolt size to give a good feel for the right amount of torque to apply.

The 617 engine manual does not specify a torque value for that fitting.

I always do it by feel......but is just a bit tighter than it needs to be so it won't rotate easily.
