Odometer/cruise control problems not linked....

Just got done pulling the cluster, and it turns out the odometer problem is a stripped gear, and that maybe it was a fluke that the cruise control worked on the maiden voyage. Wish I had read the post about how pushing the trip reset while moving will blow it up....with the cruise control, now sometimes it will work while holding the stalk, but quits when the stalk is let go. Possible related issue, sometimes the actuator makes a clicking niose on start-up, maybe I'll try the amp soldering project
