Engine Identification numbers

I am trying to find the what the meaning of the code numbers on the side of the engine block mean. I have searched the web and contacted my local MB dealer. So far I have found nothing. I know the engine in the car is not the original, and I am trying to find out what it is.
The numbers appear on the left side of the block just above the oil pan.
Here are the numbers I am trying to ID.

23G 85
Mercedes Benz
602 011 07 01

I tried to attach a photo.

Any I have a source?
I have looked at Adstico and German Star sites, but they do not go into detail, also there are some conflicts between the sites information.

Thanks

and with an attitude such as yours, those of us who read this for the first time and do have helpful answers for you are not likely to give them. However, in the spirit of goodwill, I should offer some helpful advice. Grow up.

What I am looking for is the code that is in the engine block, that is where the:

23G 85
Mercedes Benz
602 011 07 01

comes from, the cast engine block.

The 602 make sense, the 011, well if the 0 is change to a 9 then you have the 602.911, but there is more information here.
I have a 603 engine with the block code of year built 95, 603 011 35 01. The year bulit of 95 is a question, but the 011 does not make sense, I have yet to find a 603.911 engine listed any.

As to my attitude, sorry.

i dont know much about mercedes, but when i was back home we were running ford dealership. there were some ford tractors that were more durable and reliable than others. the had different numbers on blocks. what we had found was those numbers were specific to the foundries where those blocks were casted. That is sometimes motor companies get these things built from different companies on order. maybe its the same thing here.

I don't guess you would have those Ford tractor numbers by chance. Model, year, numbers, etc....
Were these older tractors, as in the 8N or 9N, the 2000-4000 series, or newer. You've peaked my interest. I have a Ford 3000 diesel, circa around 1968.
