this is the last thing that i have to tackle on my 300sd. the whole car is prestine but the trim is like a 5 dollar frame on a picasso. i have tried, 2 kinds of mothers, never dul wadding, some off brand cleaner, sos and my next thing will be to wet sand and buff. i know it works but it would be a long job.

any help will be appreciated.

The trim on my W126 is anodized aluminum. However the gutters going around the doors are stainless and seem to be coated with something. Chrome maybe? So the only way to fix this and make those parts shine like it is 1979 is to pull them all off the car and have the aluminum ones re anodized, and everything else re chromed. It is a lot of work but probably not to expensive, I bet you could do every peice for under $1k. If you skip the bumpers those will cost a few bucks.

It would probably be cheaper just to but the smaller stuff new, 300SD badge's, stars, grill, ect.
