are there places in which I could buy bag filters without having to order them?
I was wondering if anyone knew of a kind of place that sells bag filters like maybe a hardware store? that I could use to filter WVO. How about Harbor Frieght? Or a janitorial supply store? I'm getting very close I can feel it
Thanks David

If you order the plans from Dana Linscott there are great instructions on how to make filtering stations, collection gear and make your own bag filters out of old blue jeans.... Pennies on the dollar. RT

Today I need to go to the hardware store and get materials to build a station and I guess I'll go from there.
Thanks David

Ordering filter bags is out of the question but ordering plans is not too much trouble?
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showpost.php?p=873084&postcount=12 This is a good description of a tried and true approach. Or order ten bags at a time and split them with other people. |

hey twitch
i have been heating the wvo on my camping stove then pumping thru the omni home water filter. filters always available at ace, menards etc.
one more filter i use is the end off one of those flower watering soakers. the holes are smaller than the ones on the filter that came with the pump so the oil is cleaner when i pump into the pot and really clen coming out of the filter. can't wait to see the resulting bio d in a couple of days.

Griangers sells them I think they have stores in most large citys. You have to buy a case I paid under $60 for 20 bags.I do the levi then heat in hot water heater cycle thru a ford engine oil filter for 3 to 4 hours it fills with black crud cut one open to see what it was catching, then let settle for a day or 2 then thru a home filter with a 5 micron then thru the 5 mic bag to storage tank.

An engine oil filter will bypass after it starts to clog. Not a good choice for veg oil.
I want to make BioDiesel but I can't find my scale, makes me mad. |

I placed an order at Mcmaster on Thursday (4:00 pm) and got the package on Friday. Can't get any faster than that for me.
Do a search on their site. They're only $4-5 each and shipping for 5 of them was only $4. http://www.mcmaster.com/
