Can anybody tell me what the aproximate RPM should be at 60 MPH I am not sure if my tranny is going into the final gear.

I think you'd know it if it was still in third at 60mph for cruising I'm guessing around 2600rpm at 60mph in 4th gear with a 3.07 diff. Considering around 73mph is the cutoff for third gear (highest I've ever gotten it, and thats where the shift point dots are) I doubt yours is not going into 4th....you'd really know it....and hear it.

It may help better if you include year. 123, and 124 rear ratios vari depending on year.

If it has really soft/slipping shifts you can adjust the modulator on the side of the transmission clockwise a notch or two to firm it up a little, its green with a black rubber cap.
