Extra Cooling for 240D?

Has anyone ever tried putting a 300D turbo radiator into a 240D, or is there much over heating with the regular system on hot summer days?

I'm going to be getting all my AC hoses rebuilt and installung a new compressor soon. I have an extra 300D turbo radiator and coolant tank. I'm just wondsering if extra cooling would be a good thing.

Lugging and driving too fast have been the most frequent causes of overheating in the 4-cylinder engines. It's a good thing the thermostat has a built in leak because the stock radiator is big for the engine. Without that leak I'd be worried about shocking the engine when the thermostat does open. But, seeing that you live where it gets hot, you might benefit from a larger radiator.

I currently have a 300D n/a radiator in my 240D. Easy replacement as the 300D radiator slips right in.

The temperature is steady at 180 even after 3-4 hours at 75-80 mph with the a/c on. I'd say as long as the radiator fits, go for it.
