All these cars that had rated "poor" or whatnot for these tests have probably been specifically redesigned for the IIHS offset test only. It's only one test. Show me the REAL thing.

I doubt manufacturers are allowed to have specially modified cars to pass the lab tests....what's the point of having a standardized test if they're not all of the same construction?

Sure real world experiences are different but at least there is one standardization in a controlled environment to which a wide range of cars are subjected to. No two real world accidents are ever alike so you have to make some sort of test to which simulates a probable accident.
