Cheap center muffler fix-stupid newbie Q

Ok, so I just bought a new rear muffler for $100, and it turns out i also need a center muffler. I just finished a $600 VO conversion yesterday, and i neither want to pay $75 for a center muffler or wait a week for it to come in. Autozone stocks something they call Turbo 2 for $16.99. I have to cut and bend the pipe myself. Can anyone tell me what it involved in cutting and bending exhaust pipe?

That center "muffler" is really a resonator.........you can straight pipe that and barely have an increase in exhaust noise.

that's definitely good to know. saves me the 16.99. so now i still need to know how to bend the pipe. can i do it at home, or do i take it to a muffler shop? can i even buy non-model-specific pipe like that?

You can forget about bending the pipe yourself. The only way to do it, and it only works for small angles, is to cut into it with an angle grinder, bend the gap together, and then mig weld the seam shut. This is very common on high end custom mandrel bent exhausts that need to be tweaked when they're installed. , but way more than you need. Just take the whole car to a shop and have them connect the components.

Can I connect the components myself? If I have a stock center resonator, do I need to weld it, or does it slip on?
