Brembo rotors for 300TD ?

Hi Guys/gals,

What do you think about those rotors ? Anyone tried it ?
While I'm at it. Which manufacturer do you use for the rotors and pads ?

Thanks,
Yossi

That's not a great price. About the same as most of the online sources (Rusty, Imported, etc.)

ATE is the most common replacement. I'm sure they're all made by the same factory anymore, just ATE, Balo and Brembo put their names on them and re-ship.

I'd suggest if you need discs, buy them from Fastlane who supports this forum. For the $5 more it "might" cost, it's a way to support this great site and buy from someone who DOES help MB owners and not just makes $'s off us.

Not to belittle all ebay sellers, but there are a few (Benzbaron and his other personalities) who are unscrupulous (they sell things they don't have, then order them once someone wins an auction and you may or may not get it within 30days.)

My question was about the name brand Brembo.

Tom thanks for the reply and sharing where do you think I should buy my rotors from. My intention was to ask about the brand name Brembo. And I posted the link for illustration. I checked what is offered by fastlane and other places and have to admit I never heard of ETA. Just to show you how much I don't know :-). I did recognize the name Brembo thus the question. Now if you look at the packaging of ETA where is it manufactured? If someone bought Brembo what was your experience compared to other rotors?

As you can see I try to get out of marketing brain wash and get the facts right.

Thanks,
Yossi

thank you for typing ETA for us with dylexia.

ATE also supplies VW and I think BMW for their brakes. Pretty sure they do some of the calipers for most german car companies too. Their brake fluid is well known in european performance circles.

ATE. Acronym usually pronounced Ah-tey.
A large multinational company that manufactures excellent parts, esp brake related. see: http://www.ate-brakes.com/generator/www/start/index_ate_en.html
For pads I prefer PBR, and their new ceramic pads available for the 123 cars leaves very little of the dark brake dust that OE brakes leave.
Whatever you do, don't have discs turned down - a waste of time when you can get new ATE for about $27 a set

Brake Disc ATE IN STOCK $33.39

This is right off Fastlane for a 1983 300TD.

Brembo makes some of the best brakes in the world, but in this case you are paying for the name. I have also heard some mixed reviews of these. Buy ATE or Balo, if you want cross drilled rotors Zimmerman might make some for the W123. Or you could upgrade to W126 brakes.
