Hi Gang,

I seem to have an electrical issue with my 1979 300D. Currently the flat fuse (80 AMP) for the Glow Plug system (filament type) keeps blowing. Originally, I could replace the fuse and it would be fine for a while, but now it blows right away and now the first wire that comes to the fuse, which I assume is the power line from the glow plug relay, stays live (it sparks when it touches metal, even though the key is off in the ignition) which I assume is not normal.

Where should I start, do I need a new relay, or do I have a bad ground somewhere?

possibly a shorted plug?

this might be a good time to upgrade the car to the bosch fastglow system. I just did it on my 1978 240D and what a difference, its like a different car now.
