123 Center vent solinoid?
Which solinoid on a 85 300D controls the center flaps, they are labeled 1-5?
On the schematic it shows #13 in the center, as being for the center vent. My #5 solinoid is dead, (checked with a small 9 vold battery, using jumper wires, car off) the other 4 click, not #5. I searched but did not see what each solinoid controls, as far as 1-5. Where do I find what each one does, as labeled 1-5 in the car? Thanx |
The switch-over valve (also called a change-over valve) labeled #5 is the one labeled #17 in the diagram, for the main air flap element. As far as I can tell, this opens and closes the flap that takes in outside air.
Here's how to test switch-over valves: Pull the 6-way rubber vacuum connector off the top of the valves, and remove the electrical connectors. Attatch a Mighty Vac to the nipple that points upward, and pump it up to about 15"Hg. If it doesn't hold vacuum, it is bad. If it does hold vacuum, apply voltage (you seem to know about this already). If the vacuum drops, the switch-over valve is good. If not, it is bad. |
Sorry, I did not see the electrical connectors numbered below the referance numbers, in the schematic.
