how is the rear armrest attached to its metal base?

there is a flat, black, metal base that the foam armrest sits atop. how is it supposed to be attatched? ocean audio removed my rear seat in the process of installing an amp, and i never pulled the armrest down until now. there is nothing holding it to that metal base. is this normal?

are you saying that the sheet metal screws screw into the foam?
i did find several of that type of screw under the seat, but they slso didn't screw the back of the seat into place, either.

maybe something is missing on my car, and that's where the confusion is. my foam armrest sits on top of the flat metal base, which supports the foam. i can't figure out how the foam is secured to the base.
