another owners manual ? 123

I have a 1985 300D, I'm wathcing two manuals on ebay that are for different makes.

an 83 300d
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7979618831&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

an 85 300sd
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7979699289&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Will either of these be the same as far as the basics as one for an 85 300d?

I purchased a haynes repair manual but I would like to have the glove box type operators manual for the basic stuff.

the '83 300D is a W123 chassis.....the '85 300SD is a W126 chassis....there is not a lot that is shared between the two. Get the one for the 300D

simnilar

the one for the 83 300d will be closer to the same on general things, the sd will be right for the engine, so if you want one for the glove box the 83 prob is better, but to be safe maybe you should buy both!

A 300D and a 300SD are different chassis automobiles. Get one 300D specific. They are similar, but not the same.

**edit**
I guess we were all typing at the same time.

Yea I may wait. There's one for an 85 up there now starting at $49
So when I saw the others at a much more reasonable price I started thinking maybe I should grab one of these if they stay reasonable. I will get the one for the 83 if I get either. I'm not really getting it for engine stuff, more just how the climate control works and things like that.

Get the right one to start with. Call 1-800-FOR-MERC(edes). They should have brand new ones in stock.

I wouldn't even consider the one for the SD (although I was interested at first) because the seller has no picture.

Why would anyone buy anything off Ebay when the seller doesn't have a picture?
