just purchased a 1997 E class diesel, 135k. when running down the road it works perfect. if i get on it from a start or kick it down to pass hard it smokes.
is this normal?. virgin diesel owner.

Not sure how much smoke you are referring to but a diesel will smoke a bit under load. If it clears up at cruise, sounds like it is operating normally to me.

i read somewhere that the injectors should be replaced every 100,000. that the springs get weak.....
