Hi Folks, looking for some guidance on a sort of local 1982 300td.

The owner via e-mail suggested that: "A/C and heater inoperative" "I am not sure what is wrong with the heater but I had it in to the Mercedes dealer here and they said it was a common problem and it would cost about 180.00 to fix"

Any thoughts on what would cost $180 Can. to fix?

PS I came across a even closer 79 300td - not bad body but:
1. Rear suspension hyrdaulics are MIA and replaced with coil boosters (no shocks according to owner.
2. Funky homemade window tinting
3. Missing a lot of stuff - like rear bumper cover, all MB emblems, broken attenna, broken coil spring

Best part owner is insistent that $1800 is a "steal" price.

Looks like he wants to "steal" around $1500 of your cash. Sounds like it is worth all of $300
